The Banku Ta, also known as Akple Dati or Banku Stick, is a traditional wooden cooking utensil used for stirring and turning thick local meals during preparation.

It is mainly used for stirring banku, akple, fufu, and kokonte while they cook, helping to mix the dough evenly and prevent lumps.

Its long, sturdy design allows the user to apply strength and control when stirring heavy mixtures over heat. The smooth wooden surface is gentle on pots and does not scratch cooking surfaces.
